Italian league fixtures scandal

Rome - The Italian league match-fixing scandal happening again. Several clubs and individuals allegedly involved, with two of them are a team of the Serie A Udinese and Atalanta.

Quoted from Football Italia, on Tuesday (26/07/2011) local time yesterday investigating authorities announced the 18 clubs and 26 individuals related to allegations of match-fixing. Italian soccer's latest scandal involving gambling mafias in the country.

Two of the 18 clubs involved are Udinese and Atalanta, who compete next season in Serie A. While the other three coming from the Serie B Ascoli, Hellas Verona and Sassuolo.
While 11 other teams come from the Pro League. They are Alexandria, Cremonese, Benevento, Ravenna, Virtus Entella, Piacenza, Esperia Viareggio, Portogruaro, Taranto, Spezia and Reggiana plus two amateur teams: Cus Chieti and Pino In Matteo.

The whole team will be called by the investigators mentioned starting early next month. In addition to 18 club, appears also list of 26 individuals allegedly involved in it. Including veteran Giuseppe Signori and Atalanta midfielder Cristiano Doni.

Some games that have been littered with cases of suspected match-fixing among them is the match between Inter Milan vs. Lecce. The battle between Piacenza vs. Atalanta, which determines one ticket promotion to Serie A, also indicated involved match-fixing.
