From the results of recent studies conducted Gay, 20 clubs in La Liga showed a net loss of 100 million euros in June 2010.

Club's total debt was 3.43 billion euros. Value of the debt was down from previous seasons, but the figure is twice that of the club's revenue 1.61 billion euros.

"Football is like Spain was walking on a rope. The bad thing is that nothing whatever is done to address the serious situation is more acute from season to season," said Gay.

Authority of the Spanish League (LFP) is planning to exercise control over expenditure does not return the club to get caught up in financial trouble and debt.

"Spanish Football and La Liga in particular, have earned praise globally and we have to balance it all with the economic management of the club," said LFP president Jose Luis Astiazaran was quoted by Reuters.

"It is time to reconcile the perfection of the aspects of the sport that we have with the perfection of financial terms."

Astiazaran said that such control measures might be perceived weight for a number of clubs. "Spanish football needs to move forward toward a country that became an example as the party able to pay his debts."

"Of the clubs that are members of the LFP currently has a number of dysfunction (in terms of financial management). We have to control it and we will make some decisions that may not be fun," he added.
